DSE, CSE index drop on Sunday

Key share price index at the country’s twin bourses – Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) – dropped on Sunday, the 1st trading day of the week. The DSE benchmark index, DSEX shed 38.72 points or 0.78 percent to close at 4917.38 on the day. Of the 306 issues traded, 68 gained, 208 declined and 30 remained unchanged. Shares worth Tk 251.44 crore changed hands at the DSE on Sunday against Tk 331.07 crore on Thursday. The day’s top 10 losers at the DSE were Samata Leather Complex, Shahjibazar Power, Phoenix Finance 1st Mutual Fund, National Tea, Midas Financing, 2nd ICB Mutual Fund, RN Spinning Mills, ICB AMCL 2nd NRB Mutual Fund, The Dacca Dyeing & Manufacturing, and Metro Spinning. The CSE key index, CSCX, dropped 63.31 points to reach 9137.34 at close on Sunday. Of the 226 issues traded, 44 advanced, 159 suffered loss and 26 remained unchanged.
